Nepali Mela (Himalayan Festival) 2016
Posted in 1st Aug, 2016
The Nepalaese Canadian Community Services (NCCS) proudly announces that it is organizing one of the most awaited Nepalese festivals in North America, the 10th Nepali Mela (Himalayan Festival) 2016 on Sunday, 21 August, 2016. The Mela will be staged at Nathan Philip Squaree, Toronto which is one of the most famous places in Canada.
We are expecting a huge turnout of Nepalese and non-Nepalese origin community within GTA and beyond in the event. Over the years, this event has been able to bring thousands of people together in Toronto, a new but well known Nepalese diaspora in Canada, and provided a platform for many to formulate business ideas, expand professional networking and avail a number of opportunities in several areas. The Himalaya Meala once a year event in Toronto is as iconic as Nepali Diasporas in Canada.
The major highlights of the grand event will be the exhibition of Nepalese arts and crafts, live performance of Nepalese music and dance by famous Nepalese artists from GTA and beyond, taste of Nepalese foods, dissemination of information and about the Nepalese world heritage sites.
We request all our community members to support NCCS to make this mega event a grand success. We request you to attend the Mela with your own ethnic/cultural dresses and become a volunteer on that day. As the City of Toronto has recently changed its policy to charge the organizer extra fees, it will bring a significant financial burden to us. In order to mitigate such unexpected burden, we request our community people who run their own business, to support us financially through sponsoring the event.
NCCS is eagerly looking forward to welcoming you all at Nathan Philip Square, Toronto on Sunday, 21 August, 2016. Time: 2 pm to 8 pm.
